Dear Little Philanthropists,
We have an important and heartwarming story to share with you today. Meet Peggy, the newest addition to the Southern Koala and Echidna Rescue (SKER). Peggy's tale is one that reminds us of the incredible work being done by organisations like SKER, dedicated to the welfare and rehabilitation of our precious wildlife.
Peggy's journey began when she was discovered on the ground, separated from her mother who was nowhere to be found. Weighing a mere 500gms (17.7 ounces), this little koala joey was in need of immediate care and attention. Upon closer examination, it was revealed that Peggy had a broken arm, which required a cast to aid in her healing process.
The dedicated team at SKER has taken Peggy under their wing, ensuring she receives the specialised care she needs to thrive. However, Peggy's road to recovery is a long one, and she will require ongoing support for the next 8-12 months until she reaches the crucial weight of 4kg (8.8lb).
Your generous contributions to our campaign, "Caring for Peggy," will directly assist in covering Peggy's veterinary care expenses, regular bottle feeding, and the vital eucalyptus leaves she will need to nourish her growing body. Every donation, no matter the size, will play a significant role in Peggy's journey back to the wild where she belongs.
We understand that times are challenging, and there are numerous causes vying for your attention. However, we urge you to consider contributing to Peggy's rehabilitation. By doing so, you will not only be making a difference in the life of this precious koala joey but also supporting the broader mission of SKER in their tireless efforts to protect and rehabilitate Australian wildlife.
To make a donation and join us in supporting Peggy's journey, please visit the campaign page. Your contribution, no matter the amount, will go a long way in helping Peggy regain her strength and eventually return to her natural habitat.
We sincerely thank you for your consideration and support. Together, we can make a significant impact on the lives of our unique wildlife.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Little Phil Team
